DESCRIPTION:(CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER) POOR YORICK 鈥� WRITERS鈥� OPEN MIC: Join 吃瓜头条鈥檚 Department of Creative & Professional Writing Program for a Writers鈥� Open Mic with Pop-up Book Shop from 3-5 p.m. at The Market at The Meetinghouse\, located at 602 Ridgebury Road in Ridgefield 鈥� just a 12-minute drive from the 吃瓜头条 Westside campus! \nHosted by Poor Yorick\, the program鈥檚 literary journal\, this event celebrates both 吃瓜头条鈥檚 lifelong community of writers and the vibrant literary voices of the Greater Danbury Area. We鈥檙e excited to share our program鈥檚 long-standing tradition of these open mics with the local community beyond the boundaries of our campus with an evening of storytelling\, poetry\, and prose of every kind at The Market at The Meetinghouse. This event will feature a Pop-up Book Shop hosted by Rainy Day Paperback Exchange of Bethel\, offering a curated selection of used books. \nFeatured Student Reader: Sophia Caselnova\nCaselnova is a recent M.F.A. candidate in Creative Nonfiction at 吃瓜头条 focusing on memoir writing\, having recently finished her first collection of work\, titled 鈥淭he Climb\,鈥� which includes essays\, poems\, and vignettes. Previously\, Caselnova worked as a journalist where she won an award for her coverage of a municipal lawsuit\, and her poetry has been featured in Poet鈥檚 Choice and Sad Girl Diaries. She now leads creative nonfiction workshops for veterans enabling them with the tools necessary to tell their stories.\n鈥斺�斺�斺�斺�斺�斺�斺�斺�斺�斺�斺�斺�斺�斺�斺�斺�斺�斺��- \nThis event is open to the public! All writers are welcome to read their works* and all readers invited to sit back and enjoy! \n*Please note: Current 吃瓜头条 M.F.A. students will receive priority for reading opportunities.
