In the Heights of Colorism: Translating Latinx
“IN THE HEIGHTS OF COLORISM: TRANSLATING LATINX”:听Dr. Alba Hawkins will present a virtual discussion at 5:30 p.m. about the recent film production “In the Heights” directed by Jon M. Chu, 2021, based on a screenplay by Quiara Alegr铆a Hudes and the stage musical with Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Join the Department of World Languages and Cultures faculty and students from Translating Latinx for a virtual conversation about the film and implications of race and translating Latinx identities in the film.听Participants are encouraged to view the film before the event, available streaming (free) from 吃瓜头条 Media at听
