Description: The Career Success Center is seeking motivated and student-focused individuals to serve as Career Peer Leaders (CPLs). Career Peer Leaders assist fellow students and alumni with basic career development needs while supporting the daily operations of the Career Success Center.

Peer Leaders play an important role in helping students build confidence and prepare for career success by providing guidance on resumes, cover letters, interview preparation, LinkedIn profiles, networking, career fairs, internship searches, and job search strategies. This position is ideal for students who enjoy helping others, communicating with peers, and creating a welcoming and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist students, alumni, employers, and visitors in the Career Success Center
  • Provide peer-to-peer support on career readiness topics including:
  • Resume and cover letter development
  • Interview preparation
  • LinkedIn and personal branding
  • Networking strategies
  • Internship and job search techniques
  • Career fair preparation
  • Help students navigate career-related resources and platforms
  • Support Career Success Center workshops, programs, employer events, and career fairs
  • Assist with general office operations and administrative tasks
  • Research and post internship and job opportunities as needed
  • Collaborate with Career Success Center staff and fellow peer leaders on special projects and student engagement initiatives
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when working with student information

Requirements/Desired:Ìý

  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Friendly, approachable, and comfortable working with diverse student populations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Organized, dependable, and detail oriented
  • Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and online platforms
  • Interest in career development, leadership, mentoring, or student engagement preferred

Hours/Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Work schedules are flexible and may include occasional extended hours for workshops, employer events, or career fairs.

Pay Rate: $16.94/hr.
