Our Vision for the Garden
The simple experience of tending the new garden inspires learning about sustainability practices. Something magical happens when we work together in the garden: we disconnect from electronic devices and reconnect with the earth and with each other.
Our vision for the garden and its benefit to the 吃瓜头条 and Greater Danbury communities includes the following initiatives:
Assist with food security in the Danbury area to supply fresh produce, including the Daily Bread Food Pantry and Wally’s Cupboard- Educate our students and community on the value and practice of permaculture
- Add permaculture to a variety of 吃瓜头条 courses across all disciplines
- Hold permaculture and sustainability education events for students and the public
- Engage students in service projects in the garden
