PRE-HEALTH PATHWAYS

Your path to the health field

³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ's Pre-Health Pathways

Prepare for success in health field graduate programs

Welcome pre-health students!ÌýThis website is designed to provide you with all of the information you need to prepare for graduate programs in health fields. This site contains important information about all of the pre-health pathways (course work related to your desired graduate degrees) and an overview of the process for applying to graduate programs. In addition, you’ll find meeting announcements, volunteer opportunities, and advising times each semester.

The Pre-Health Office is available to provide resources, events, and secondary advisement to any student interested in pursuing graduate programs and careers in the following health fields: medicine, veterinary, dental, optometry, physical assistant, podiatry, pharmacy, genetic counseling, chiropractic, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and athletic training. Students interested in these pre-health pathways can choose any major at ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ. The key is to choose a major of interest that allows you to complete prerequisites for the appropriate graduate program. All students pursuing pre-health pathways should work with the faculty advisor in their major department as the primary advisor and the pre-health office advisor as a secondary advisor. The primary advisor will advise towards successful completion of the undergraduate degree. The pre-health advisor will advise towards successful completion of graduate program prerequisites and preparation for graduate entrance exams.

While this site is designed to be comprehensive, we urge you toÌýsee your advisor often. It is a good idea toÌýset up a meeting with your pre-health advisor right awayÌýso you can develop your graduate school plansÌýfrom the start of your undergraduate career. We look forward to working with you!

Admission to all these programs is competitive. In addition to looking at GPA and performance on standardized tests (MCAT, DAT, GRE, PCAT, OAT) programs are looking for well-rounded students whose extracurricular activities demonstrate a knowledge of and interest in their desired profession.
