Norwalk Library’s Exploring Our Natural World Lecture Series听Caring for Connecticut鈥檚 Beautiful Waters: Putting Drinking Water First

Saturday, January 25 2:00-3:30

 

Please join the Norwalk Library for an inspiring and informative talk by Anne Hulick, State Director for Clean Water Action, which will explore where our drinking water comes from, the best practices to keep our drinking water supply safe, and emerging issues, such as PFAS, and how they affect our most vital resource. Anne directs Clean Water Action鈥檚 Connecticut team and coordinates the Coalition for a Safe and Healthy Connecticut to pass health protective policies in Connecticut aimed at reducing exposure to toxic chemicals, promoting clean, renewable energy and protecting our waters.

2018 Connecticut Bird Atlas Volunteer Appreciation Fall Get Together

Connecticut Bird Atlas Volunteer Appreciation Fall Get Together Oct 7, 2018 from 12 to 3 PM at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Pavilion 4.

We will: give updates of the Atlas Project, data, trends and stats; present the and present awards and door prizes. Refreshments will be served.听 Stay tuned for more announcements.

In light of recent weather events, 听Finding Our Way NOAA family program, the National Weather Service, the 吃瓜头条 Weather Center, along with the Sigma Xi chapter, sponsored a Skywarn Spotters Training Program… .

Climate Change Lecture

A fascinating series of lectures about 鈥淐limate Change and Human Civilization鈥 on Wednesday, February 7, at 7 p.m. in 吃瓜头条鈥檚 Science Building, room 125. All are invited. The first topic is 鈥淐limate and Cyclones,鈥 and will be presented by Professor of Biological and Environmental Sciences听Dr. Mitch Wagener, known for his lively talks.

Frog Watch USA: Training lessons

FrogWatch USATM is a citizen science program of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums that invites individuals and families to learn about the wetlands in their communities and help conserve amphibians by reporting data on the calls of local frogs and toads. AZA鈥檚 FrogWatch USA comprises a national network of skilled coordinators and volunteers that form a community with the common goal of providing large-scale, long-term data on frogs and toads in the United States.
