The mission of the School of Visual, Performing, and Communication Arts is to promote intellectual inquiry, advance knowledge, and cultivate creativity between faculty and students through teaching, research, projects, and the application of skills in real-world settings.<\/p>\n

The School provides its students with a superior education, fosters excellence in creative research and discovery, nurtures ethical and moral decision-making, encourages\u00a0leadership, and contributes to the cultural enrichment of the state and region.<\/p>\n

The School serves the general education component at ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ by providing a unique perspective for\u00a0thinking about and understanding other disciplines. The richness of Communication and the Arts contributes to human achievement, connection, and a deeper shared experience.<\/p>\n

Objectives<\/p>\n

  1. to offer the highest quality educational, pre-professional, and professional experiences within a liberal arts environment;<\/li>\n
  2. to utilize fully our regional advantage in the arts and arts-related professions, including access to outstanding faculty, guest artists, and resources of New York City;<\/li>\n
  3. to recruit the highest quality students in the arts disciplines;<\/li>\n
  4. to attract major funding for scholarships and endowed faculty Chairs;<\/li>\n
