Janelle Robinson – Adjunct Professor (Musical Theatre – Applied Voice)

Janelle Robinson (Adjunct Professor)Ìýhas been teaching for the last 25 years. A seasoned performer,ÌýPerformances include originating the role of Mrs. Corry in Disney/Cameron Mackintosh’s production ofÌýMary Poppins; the revivals ofÌýShowboatÌýandÌýOklahoma!Ìýas well as the 1st National Tours ofÌýShowboat, playing Queenie andÌýThoroughly Modern MillieÌýplaying Ms. Flannery, u/s Muzzie.ÌýÌýShe has worked at numerousÌýregional houses including Maine State Music Theater, Papermill Playhouse, North Shore Music Theater, Cleveland Playhouse, St. Louis Repertory and Playhouse on Park (World Premiere of HIGGINS IN HARLEM) and Penobscot Theatre Company.ÌýShe has worked with Hal Prince, Sir Richard Eyre, Michael Mayer, Trevor Nunn, Walter Bobbie, Susan Stroman, Rob Ashford, Wayne Cilento, Jeanine Tesori, Kevin Stites, Brad Haak, Eric Stern,Ìýand others.ÌýÌý
Presently, Ms. Robinson teaches at ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ as well as The Hartt School. She has taught at The Juilliard Summer Institute, The Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, Fineline, Random Farms as well as numerous summer programs. In addition, she travels the country giving master classes.ÌýÌý
Ms. Robinson is a past recipient of The Richard Tucker Study Grant, The MacAllister Award, 2nd place in the Baltimore Opera Competition and most recently The Connecticut Critic Circle Award forÌýOutstanding Featured Actress in a MusicalÌýfor her portrayal of Bloody Mary in STONC’s production ofÌýSouth Pacific.ÌýÌý
She is a proud member of AEA and SAG/AFTRA.ÌýShe holds degrees from The Hartt School, The Juilliard School and The Curtis Institute.Ìý
