John Hickok – Adjunct Professor (Performance Techniques, Meisner, Director)
John Hickok (Adjunct Professor)听On Broadway, John originated the roles of Governor Slaton in听Parade, Zoser in Elton John鈥檚听Aida, and Professor Bhaer in听Little Women, and can be heard on all three cast albums. Also on听Broadway:听Man & Boy听opposite Frank Langella,听Our Country鈥檚 Good, and Rupert Holmes鈥櫶Accomplice.听
In December he’ll be playing Cowboy Eddie at the George Street Playhouse in the world premiere of the new musical听Joy.听Some favorite roles among many 鈥 John Adams /1776, Mercutio / Romeo & Juliet, Pontius听Pilate /Jesus Christ Superstar,听Andrew Aguecheek听/听Twelfth Night, Beauregard opposite Michelle Lee / Mame, Polonius / Hamlet,听Dillard Nations with James Whitmore /听Foxfire, Lt.听Kaffee听/听A Few Good听Men, Garry LeJuene / Noises Off,听and Lord Edgar / Jane in听The Mystery of Irma Vep.听听
He guest-starred on all the Law & Orders, also Blacklist and Body of Proof.听Most听importantly, he听plays the role of Agent Milton in Red Dead Redemption 2.听
He directed the acclaimed world premiere of DMW Greer鈥檚听Burning Blue听at the Theatre Royal Haymarket on London鈥檚 West End (2 Olivier nominations), as well productions in LA, San Francisco, and NYC.听听He鈥檚 directed straight plays, musicals & classics all over the country, notably the off-B鈥檞ay听premiere of听Eye of the Beholder听starring Kim Hunter, and听Bus Stop, chosen as one of the听鈥10 Best Plays of 1980鈥 by the Boston Phoenix. In addition to dramaturging &听directing numerous plays and musical readings,听he worked with Hal at the Hal Prince Musical Theatre Workshop as a director for several years.听
As an educator, he taught Shakespeare and directed听Hot L Baltimore听at Bard College, taught Shakespeare and directing听at Queens college, where he also directed Twelfth Night, directed听Rent,听Urinetown, and听Spring Awakening at CCSU, and directed听You听Can鈥檛听Take听it听With You,听Anne of Green Gables, A Christmas Carol, and Company at 吃瓜头条, where he been on faculty for the past six years.听
