Erica Bower
Erica is a research scientist at the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) working with the National Weather Service Weather Prediction Center (WPC). She has been at WPC for 4 years, and with CIRES for almost 3 years. Her research at WPC examines heavy rainfall and involves forecast verification, focusing on urban flash flooding and on tropical cyclone rainfall. Prior to joining CIRES, Erica earned her Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from 吃瓜头条 before going on to earn a Ph.D. in Marine and Atmospheric Science from Stony Brook University. Her dissertation investigated tropical cyclone rainfall throughout the entire storm life cycle, especially after the completion of the extratropical transition process.
