What It Means to Be a Mentor Ìý
Peer mentors are trained, upper-class students who serve as personal guides and role models for incoming first-year students. Your experience encompasses:Ìý
Eligibility RequirementsÌýÌý
Peer mentors understand what it’s like to struggle and succeed in the first year of college.Ìý Requirements include:Ìý
Time ExpectationsÌýÌý
Peer mentors can expect 4-8Ìýhours of weekly duties including attending one of the sections of the FYE course, individual student meetings, student outreach, planning and attending events for first-year students, staff meetings and check-ins with the program staff. Peer mentors complete 10-hours of training prior to the beginning of the semester. Ìý

Mentors are eligible to become through CRLA, the College Reading & Learning Association. This is a great opportunity to strengthen your leadership skills, enhance your résumé, and connect with the ³Ô¹ÏÍ·Ìõ community.Ìý
